Metro STEAM Academy has had several incredible partnerships.
Iowa Work-Based Learning Coordinators
A team of STEAM Academy students represented METRO at the Iowa Work-Based Learning Coordinators annual conference. The students presented a breakout session about their work at the MADE Store this past fall and winter.
The students did a great job sharing their work with a group of interested adults from across the state. It was a great opportunity for students to practice and build their communication skills and get authentic feedback from their audience.
NewBO Market
Metro STEAM Academy has had an amazing opportunity to have a stand at the NewBo Market - the MADE Store. They have been able to sell various items created and made by students.
Lucy's Soil
They had a presenter from Lucy's Soil come to share about their business model and tour the STEAM Academy. The kids showed her around our greenhouse where Metro students used their product to start all of our seedlings.
Career Discovery Tours
STEAM Academy students went on the road visiting manufacturing facilities within their community as part of Career Discovery Tours Week in partnership with Kirkwood CC.
